HYDERABAD HISTORY

Hyderabad is known as Pearl City and Deccan, Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah was the founder of Hyderabad in 1951. Hyderabad was named as the city of Hyder after his beloved queen Hyder Mahal. The growth of Hyderabad was started by the seven Nizams with many famous monuments in city and also developed Hyderabad economically. Various industries established before Hyderabad independence in various parts of Telangana region are Singareni Collieries, Nizam Sugar Factory and VST Company. After India independence in 1947, the Nizam was not ready to merge his Hyderabad State in India and want to be independent ruler but on Sep 16, 1948, Indian Army took over city from all sides and demanded to surrender. The Nizam finally surrendered the Indian government under Home Minister Sarder Patel. From 1948-1956 the Hyderabad State continued as a separate state with Telangana region and some parts of k’taka. On November 1st 1956, State of Hyderabad became new capital city for AndraPradesh with Rayalaseema, Andhra and Telangana.
